Cancer Care

Compassion in Action

When someone is fighting cancer, everyday life doesn’t pause. Rent is still due. Utilities still need to be paid. Gas is still needed to get to treatment. And that’s where we step in—together.

Since 2013, the Cancer Care Committee of the Northeast Wyoming Community Health Foundation has provided over $789,000 in direct financial assistance to more than 430 local cancer patients. These are our neighbors, friends, and family—and they deserve more than just treatment. They deserve peace of mind, dignity, and a community that shows up.

“They helped me keep my identity.” ~ Candice Monger

Candice was awarded a grant from Cancer Care to purchase a custom wig to match the perfect shade of red that her hair was before chemotherapy. Candice is now in remission, living life to the fullest, and says that she can’t express enough how thankful she is to the Foundation, to the Cancer Care program and donors who make such grants possible.

How We Help

With your help, we’ve built a compassionate, wraparound program to ease the burdens cancer can bring.

Financial Assistance

Because of your generosity, we now provide nearly $100,000 each year to help cover essential expenses like rent, mortgage, utilities, gas, and medical bills.

This support eases real burdens and lets patients focus on what matters most: healing.

Penguin Cold Cap Therapy

Available at the Heptner Cancer Center, Cold Cap Therapy helps reduce hair loss during chemotherapy—allowing patients to hold on to a part of their identity during a deeply vulnerable time. This was made possible by the community’s support through Festival of Trees.

Contact the Patient Navigator at 307.696.7419 to learn more.

Located inside the Heptner Cancer Center, the Boutique is a warm, welcoming space offering free wigs, hats, headwraps, and mastectomy fittings. Educational resources are also available to help patients feel informed and supported.

How you can help

Every dollar you give to the Cancer Care Committee goes directly to local cancer patients—helping them pay rent, keep the lights on, get to treatment, and face each day with one less worry. Cancer doesn’t wait. And neither can we.

Here’s how you can help today:

  • Make a donation – every gift, big or small, makes an immediate impact

  • Sponsor a patient’s gas card, utility bill, or rent

  • Host a fundraiser, get involved with Paint Gillette Pink, or designate us as the beneficiary of an event you create

  • Share our mission with your friends, coworkers, or business

Your generosity provides more than financial relief—it delivers hope, dignity, and strength when it’s needed most.

Give today. Support local. Care deeply. Help us prove that no one fights alone.
